Attorney Lisa Grant is back home in Kentucky to care for her ill mother. The Thoroughbred farm that has been in her mother's family for generations is near bankruptcy, so Lisa takes the only job available: research assistant to District Attorney Scott Buchanan. While reviewing cold cases, she comes across the file on a family disappearance thirty years earlier in which the mother and the toddler bear an uncanny resemblance to herself.
